We’re partway through our annual family trip to Houston and to Kansas to see family and friends. We’ve had a great time enjoying the more mild weather here in Houston and look forward to a big Sanford-family Christmas at Sheryl’s folk’s house in the country.

Naturally, Kennedy was super excited to see family too. Here’s a few shots from the last few days…

Kennedy enjoys waking up with Aunt Shelly.

Kennedy with her cousin Robin at a late lunch after shopping.

Giving Papa Sanford a well-derserved kiss on the cheek...

Sheryl and her dad

More pictures soon. In the meantime, we hope everyone has a safe and happy holiday season!

Here's Kennedy practically tackling her doll to undress it and then dress it back.

Grandma Anderson directed a Christmas play (musical) at her church and we all went to see it Saturday evening. Here she is, still in Angel costume, with Kennedy after the production.

Kennedy sat with us and would intermittently say "There's Grandma!" Here she is clapping after one of the songs.

We took this picture earlier in the week. It's been a bit chilly here and hats are a must. Mimi sent this beret to Kennedy.

We went to a friend's home last week and Kennedy had a lot of fun playing with Cassious and Halle. Here they all are on the couch watching a holiday dvd.

Now that the kitchen work is finished we moved Elle the cat's food back to an area that's familiar to her. Kennedy often sits by Elle while she eats her evening meal.

Kennedy tries to get Elle interested in playing various toys and games though Elle can't be bothered when there's food to be eaten. These two are very cute together.

And speaking of cute; isn't this a great smile?

Here's a picture of Kennedy trying to figure out how to open her crayon watercolors.

She got it figured out pretty quickly and has been drawing on some brown paper we put on her table.

She has good fun with these watercolor crayons.

On Saturday, CK came over to hang out and watch Kennedy while Sheryl and I had a date. Needless to say, with the ensuing virus, we ended up staying in, but we managed to have a good time nonetheless. Here is Kennedy helping CK read his Christmas card.

And here is Kennedy helping CK open presents.

We had another good potty training day yesterday. There were only 2 accidents and 7 successes in the bathroom. Kennedy now is very very good at going on the potty when she goes in (versus sitting for long stretches waiting for it all to happen). So wonderful and we're so excited for our growing little girl!

Everyone in the house has an icky yucky cold. No fun! Here's a picture of Kennedy playing with her picture blocks.

Kennedy hit a potty training high yesterday -- 8 stickers (successes) and only 3 accidents. Still, she goes through a lot of outfits. At one time during the day she had her Levi jeans on with inside-out-underwear. We joked that she was making a toddler fashion statement...

We've been keeping track of Kennedy's potty training progress using a potty chart. In addition to getting a sticker on the chart, she also gets to put one on her hand too. (This is the way they do it at school so we didn't want to contradict that...)

Last night Sheryl brought home a whole slew of toys too. Now, when Kennedy goes potty she gets to choose a special toy. This has proven to be very motivating. She went twice last night and this morning she has gone twice. Here is Kennedy with her shaker she chose last night. She chose to take it to music class this morning.

This is Kennedy's "No I don't need to go sit on the potty again" expression.

Here's a picture of Kennedy making a fish face and showing us her purse. It's been busy here in the Anderson house this week. We spend a lot of our time in potty training mode.

It's been great having a dishwasher in the house. Kennedy likes helping put dishes in it. Among other things, we like not having the perpetual dish drainer on the counter.

Grandma and Grandpa Anderson visited last night for a dinner of beans and cornbread and some holiday cookie decorating. Grandma coached Kennedy on how to decorate the cookies.

Once Kennedy caught on, she was a decorating wiz kid!

But the most fun was when she figured out she could eat the cookies too!

Look Mom, Penguin slippers! These are the only shoes Kennedy would wear today, even on her trip to the grocery store.
